Live Marine Rotifers (L-Type Brachionus) — Built for Breeders
- Unit price
- / per
L-type Brachionus plicatilis — 150–360 microns, 500–1,000 per mL, made to order every week. Sized for the mouth opening of first-feed marine larvae including clownfish fry, seahorse fry, mandarin fry, dottybacks, and angelfish.
Day-zero feeding. Most live rotifer products ship as starter cultures that require 14–21 days of grow-out before they reach productive density. Our packs ship from a productive parent culture — open the bag, acclimate, and feed directly.
Every bag is a document, not a guess. A signed Certificate of Analysis ships with every order: density declared, count verified, batch dated and traceable.
Weekly schedule (Tuesday harvest):
- Tue 7am — harvested from the parent culture at peak density
- Tue 1pm — Quality Report signed (density, vigor, water parameters)
- Tue 4pm — packed in phase-change insulated mailer, shipped same day
- Wed — at your door (overnight) — refrigerate immediately
Order by Tuesday 10am ET to ship the same week.
Sizes available
- 4 oz (118 mL) — ~60k to 120k rotifers — single feeding / test pack

Refrigerate immediately. Lid cracked for air exchange — never seal airtight. Warm to room temperature before feeding. Best within 5 days of arrival.
To feed: Pour or pipette directly into your target tank, or strain through a 53-micron sieve and rinse. Turn off skimmers and strong return flow for 15–60 minutes so larvae can graze.
To start your own culture: Add to clean prepared saltwater with gentle aeration and low light. Feed live phytoplankton or commercial rotifer feed. Harvest about 25% daily to keep the population young and productive.

We guarantee live arrival on all our livestock. In the rare event livestock shows up dead, we must be notified within 2 hours of delivery. Keep in mind these plants/livestock just took the journey of their lifetime in a dark box for 2-4 days so they will take time to recover and to be at their best again. Please take clear photos of the dead plant/livestock and send it to us within 2 hours of receiving the item and send the clear photos, once the item is validated by us, we will send a replacement or refund.
We try not to have snails/pests, but it happens, we remove any visible imperfections before shipment however to be 100% certain we suggest that you either do a 1:20 ratio bleach to water dip and/or wash the plants. Anytime you add something new to an aquarium it is important to rinse it off before adding just to be safe.
Our customers are very important to us.
